Title: Upgrade from console doesn´t work
Post by: fauk on March 31, 2015, 11:45:09 am
Hello Community,

I tried to update my OPNsense installation. I currently run 15.1.7-78bdb9aef and I want to update it, since version 15.1.8 has already been released. But whenever I type: "12" into the console, nothing happens. He just reloads the main menu. Is there a way to fix this problem? Or what is causing this problem?

The console upgrade was reintroduced in 15.1.7.1. You need to update through the GUI firmware pages and try the console option 12 after a reboot.

The firmware update only shows that I already have the latest version

There were two package database consistency issues in the initial 15.1.7 that match your description. My recommendation would be to reinstall using 15.1.8 through "config import" + "quick and easy install".

You have either been using the /var MFS option or did the custom install, right?

Where can I find that "config import" and "quick and easy install"? I haven´t found a way yet to export my firewall settings and rules.

In the GUI you can download your current config via Diagnostics: Backup/restore.

When you boot the install media (cdrom or usb stick) on a box that is already installed you can choose "import configuration" from the installer menu and then reinstall using "quick/easy install" from the same menu.
