Title: unknown dhcp option value 0x7d
Post by: SomebodySysop on February 09, 2022, 04:56:22 am
Just installed 22.1 on mini PC.  Acting as router behind ATT router in passthrough mode.

Getting this notice and error every 5 minutes:

2022-02-08T17:10:56-08:00   Notice   dhclient   Creating resolv.conf
2022-02-08T17:10:56-08:00   Error   dhclient   unknown dhcp option value 0x7d
2022-02-08T17:05:56-08:00   Notice   dhclient   Creating resolv.conf
2022-02-08T17:05:56-08:00   Error   dhclient   unknown dhcp option value 0x7d

I found only one other post on this where the poster was told to ignore it.  My issue is that my router went down today after less than a day of being installed.  I still don't know why.  Since rebooting, this is the only consistent error I find, so figured I'd start here.

In my attempt to resolve my router crash issue, https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=26841.0, I switched my WAN interface from DHCP to Static.  No longer see the unknown dhcp option value 0x7d error messages.

Question - when you changed the WAN interface from DHCP to Static IPv4, what did set the Static IPv4 address to? The passthrough address from the AT&T gateway (in passthrough mode)?
