22.1 is out for all Beta/RC user or early development upgrades. You can also find images in the usual spots.

Come 21.7.8 this afternoon the upgrade path will be enabled for everyone who wishes to upgrade. But proceed with care. ;)

Cheers,
Franco

Just to report that performed upgrade from 21.7.8 to 22.1 without any issues (as always). Sensei is also working fine.

Great work and thanks again for this awesome software!

@Franco,

updated to 21.7.8 and than to 22.1
All went smooth! thank you.
Also the problem with Adguard home not starting is fixed. It started automatically when the install of the update was finished!
Now hoping that the IPv6 problems are solved also... I have disabled the cron jobs (Restart DHCPv6 and Radvd v6) and it seems to work.
I like the nginx headers preload function also.

Good to hear... I would love a follow up about radvd/dhcpd6 which really is an annoying issue getting stuck on 12.1 based versions. Fingers crossed from here :)

Franco

@Franco,
It seems like the problems are still here for ipv6. When I disable the cron jobs.
On my iPhones and MacBook Pro I noticed that the fixed ipv6 with 2001:..... changes to fde7:.....
with the 21.7 only the fe80: link local stayed, so it looks like slightly different situation now.
or is fde7 also like fe80 local? I'm not very familiar with ipv6.

Hmm, fdxx is not link-local. I made a note for next week and will monitor for further reports.

Hetzner Cloud

Virtualbox
IONOS Cloud

No issue at all  8)

I disabled the cron again and now it seems at the device end (iPhone, MacBook Pro) they have 2 ipv6 addresses in the wifi. one 2001: as should and one fde7: that I do not recognize. But the ipv6 keeps working for now.... hope to hear from further reports about how and what.

One other thing I found. When going to the ipv4 ip of opnsense box I can login. That was also with ipv6, but when I go now to the ipv6 ip of opnsense on 22.1 I get this error:
Warning: array_pop() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in /usr/local/etc/inc/authgui.inc on line 74

Yap, same here. I never used v6 for GUI access and I thought it was "my fault" because I connected with GA to ULA and that gave me also an DNS rebind Attack warning.

Appears to be a typo in that line? "hfttp_host_port" instead of "http_host_port".
edit: "fixed" it manually and no more error on ipv6 login.
Created a Pull Request: https://github.com/opnsense/core/pull/5514 - Hope I did it right.

*Update*
Reboot fixed it, patch works.

humm. I did the patch, but still got the error?
Warning: array_pop() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in /usr/local/etc/inc/authgui.inc on line 74

Or should I reboot after patching?
