Title: DEC690 Hardware High Tempurature

Hello,

We have bought OPNsense DEC690. But we noticed that it has high temperature, it is about 65 C degree. Is it normal for this device? Last week, it stopped working, we disconnected it from power, after a while we connected it to power again, it started working.

Hi there,

Had to divert this through engineering and here is the response:

The issue is because the sensor of the CPU report on a scale with an offset of 10 degrees.
So, the CPU is 55C, this is a normal CPU core temperature for that device.
 
In previous models we would set the offset by default in the config, but with current models that is not the case.
One can set the following tuneable to correct the issue:
 
"dev.amdtemp.0.sensor_offset" with value "-10".
