Title: ubuntu updates blocked
Post by: esnesnpo on July 22, 2021, 01:34:33 pm
Hi all,

I'm new to opnsense, firewalls, networking but am stumbling my way through the setup.  I have an ubuntu machine that cannot get updates when I use 'sudo apt update'.  This has only started happening since I installed the firewall last week.  The ubuntu machine hosts nextcloud which I can access and i can ping 8.8.8.8.

The other issue is that I've tried 'sudo certbot renew --force-renewal' to update my lets-encrypt certificate for nextcloud and that also fails.

Can someone please help me find the correct log file to look at and how to solve the issue.

TIA for any help

I fixed it.  It was a DNS issue.  Followed this advice and worked.

Solved!!
