Title: E2Guardian
Post by: UnkleFester on April 11, 2021, 03:06:53 am
I have sworn off pfSense and am looking forward to OPNSense but hoping that E2guardian May be available at some point. I noticed that the OPNSense ports had a few files regarding E2guardian updated within the last few days but not sure if anyone knows where the integration, if any, stands at this point.

How did you used it on pfsense? I asked about the pkg one or two years ago but the configs are hard to manage and even to understand :)

To use it on pfsense you had to install a patch which essentially allowed the GUI to see the repo and display it as an option. The instructions are on .git for E2guardian. Love the interface and although the config is a bit complicated, especially with the certs. I found that at times it’s easier to update the config file manually rather than through the GUI.

So, the pkg can already be installed via pkg install e2guardian, but without UI

That's fantastic news!  I should be able to load my config file I have used with pfSense.  Any idea if/when it might be available via UI?

Is E2Guardian depends on DNS for filtration?

If you send me your config I can try to build one
