Title: Unable to Setup PPPoE with Static IP
Post by: adityaduggal on April 02, 2021, 10:22:31 am
Hi,
I have recently switched from Pfsense to OPNSense and I must say that the IPSec tunnels on OPNsense 21.1-amd64 is very stable and I am not facing any issues with the IPSec tunnels which were a pain on PFSense.

But recently I wanted to add another interface for PPPoE internet and I am trying to add the new interface and it has a static IP address IPv4. But the problem is that I am unable to define the static IP address on the interface and hence I am unable to run the internet from this WAN.

I need help on the same I am attaching the screenshots for the process followed.

First I created an Interface on the Firewall and added my username and password for the PPPoE and after save I clicked on the Additional PPPoE settings as shown in Image BSNL1.png attached.

Next I went to [Interfaces ---> Point-to-Point ----> Devices] there I had a account listed and when I try to enter the IP address and the Gateway and then save the values gets vanished after save and no error comes while saving which basically seems like a BUG as you can see in Image attached BSNL2.png

Also when I try to add the static IP to [System ----> Gateway ----> Single] there I am getting an error as shown in attached image BSNL3.png

Can any one please help me how to setup PPPoE connection with Static IP since I am out of wits for this particular case in setting up my internet.

Anyone here has any idea as to how can I setup a PPPoE gateway with static IP on OPNSense. I have not been able to use my 2nd  internet connection for weeks now since its not getting setup on opnsense.

what happens if you leave the gateway blank and then save it? And then try add it later if it saves?
