Title: Open NAT possible for Xbox gamers?
Post by: g0nz0uk on March 25, 2021, 11:11:31 pm
Hello,

I use pfSense and am looking at coming over to OPNsense, but it's important I can get Open Nat working for my sons Xbox's which I have in pfSense.

I used this, but looking at the comments it looks like I can't use this approach? It uses Pure NAT

What do you think?

Thanks

Hey,

I'm looking to migrate myself, and have the same question. Looking online it would appear the configuration is relatively the same as pfSense.  :)

All you should need is to port forward port 3074, don't need uPNP.

I just started a thread wondering the same thing (https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=22281.0). I have a feeling there are a lot of pfSense users wanting to migrate for this reason...

But this isn't very reassuring. Would be nice to know if anyone has tested multiple consoles on the same network.

You'd only need Open NAT if you were hosting games? Surely?

So unless multiple consoles are hosting from the same network at the same time, I wouldn't be too worried.
