Title: Thanks for adding your hardware to the database
Post by: aponomarenko on January 27, 2021, 09:00:11 am
Currently, about two hundred computers have been added to the hardware database since OPNsense 20.7.8 release: https://bsd-hardware.info/?d=OPNsense

Please do not hesitate to add your computer too with the help of a new os-hw-probe plugin under Menu->System->Firmware->Plugins.

The larger the database, the easier it will be to find compatible hardware for OPNsense.

Thanks!

Great tool. Only thing is it reports Qotom's  as an Intel Q3XXG4-P, probably due the System Info in the BIOS manufacturer being 'To be filled by O.E.M'. Non the less nice! As a side it's actually a Q355G4 - Is it possible to upload the data after I edit the Base Board info in */root/HW_PROBE/LATEST/hw.info/logs/dmidecode to show the correct Mfr and product ID?

I see it is! Just did a probe on its own, then an edit then an upload... nice!

This will work. But you'll need to do this each time because the database data is updated by latest probe data.

... so it would be cool to have a possibility to edit that info in the GUI and store it for future probes ...

I played around with command line and GUI....
Result: Three entries in the data base!
I didn't find a possibility to delete my duplicates...
I'll send you a PM with my three ID and ask you to delete two of them...

This is not necessary. The system will delete all unneeded duplicates automatically. It's OK to have hundreds of probes of the same computer in the database (different states of the same computer, attached new devices, different configurations or operating systems, etc. - all of this will have the same HWid).
