Title: Unable to connect to Discord
Post by: scidhuv00 on January 12, 2021, 12:59:54 am
I've got OPNSense running without any major issues, but I've now run into an oddity.

My son is using Discord, and there's no problems with it connecting for chat, but when he tries to open a voice call it has a routing problem.

I haven't been able to figure out what specifically is the problem for connectivity to Discord, and I haven't made any changes to the configuration on OPNSense.

Does anyone know why the discord audio/video chat is blocked?

Hi,

I have currently Set up my Opnsense and run into the same issue.
Did you find a solution?

When I use the Any rule, IT works normal.
When I use a rule that lets udp get through vom internal network to wan network it doesnt Work.

Sorry for my poor english.

Best regards

What are the firewall block entries say? If you click on the i at the right of an entry, you can get the details.  Without any additional information, no one will be able to help you.

Hi! I think this is a problem with your browser's security settings.

Hi, yes i was able to overcome this by connecting to a bunch of random discord servers.

I think you need to 'warmup' to the Discord API or something, but you can find a bunch of random discord servers on a site like this and connect to them first
