Title: Reaching Gbit throughput between vlans
Post by: rakete on April 03, 2020, 08:46:40 am
Hi all,

thanks for this great software, Im really happy.
Recently I noticed that network performance between two vlan does not reach 1 Gbit/s but only around ~500 Mbit/s.
The two vlan are on different physical nics on the same switch.

Hardware:
APU3
AMD GX-412TC SOC (4 cores)
8GB RAM
Intel I211 Gigabit

Software:
OPNsense 19.7.7
coreboot v4.0.19

I mean, its enough for me but Im curios about the reason. Could it be that the switch is limited?
But when using the same vlan, throughput is ~1 Gbit/s.

Best regards
Marcel

Switch or the NAT with your CPU.

Switch or the NAT with your CPU.

Is there a good way to search for NAT/cpu combination issues?
During a filetransfer I still see around 30-60% idle. interrupt goes to ~20%

Do you know this thread:

Seems that the APU2/3 with OPNsense are limited ~ 500 Mbit.
