Title: connectivity problem
Post by: keropiko on February 28, 2020, 12:04:31 pm
Hello,

i have a 20.1.1 installation on vm with proxmox since version 17.

I have a multiwan setup with a pppoe connection a dhcp wan and a 3g stick wwan connection and with web proxy enabled.

All hardware and checksum is disabled.

Lately with this version am having many problems with connectivity issues and with DNS issues also. i have disabled " Allow default gateway switching " in order to resolve these problematics since i though it might not work well with pppoe connections. Also, i have setup DNS servers on "System: Settings: General" for each connection.

Anyway i am still having continuous problems with internet and i found out that is more related to DNS.
from the logs, i am seeing that unbound is restarting continiously with no specific reason. like every 5-10 minutes it stops and starts again.

I don't know what else to do.

thank you in advance.

*UPDATE*

i have searched the log files and found out it might be a different problem.

In the logs, about every 10 minutes i get this :

Quote
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: plugins_configure monitor (execute task : dpinger_configure_do())
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: plugins_configure monitor ()
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: /usr/local/etc/rc.newwanip: ROUTING: skipping IPv4 default route
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: /usr/local/etc/rc.newwanip: ROUTING: IPv4 default gateway set to wan
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: /usr/local/etc/rc.newwanip: ROUTING: entering configure using 'opt4'
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: plugins_configure hosts (execute task : unbound_hosts_generate())
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: plugins_configure hosts (execute task : dnsmasq_hosts_generate())
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: plugins_configure hosts ()
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: /usr/local/etc/rc.newwanip: On (IP address: 192.168.182.178) (interface: WAN2[opt4]) (real interface: vtnet5).
2020-02-28T17:27:22   opnsense: /usr/local/etc/rc.newwanip: IP renewal is starting on 'vtnet5'
2020-02-28T17:27:22   sshlockout[32155]: sshlockout/webConfigurator v3.0 starting up
2020-02-28T17:27:22   dhclient: Creating resolv.conf

since i have the option " Reset all states when a dynamic IP address changes" enabled for voip, that drops connections,

could this be the reason i have this problems?

i cannot understand.... every some minutes i remain without internet, it's frustrating

*EDIT*

the WAN2 and WWAN connections continue every 5-7 minutes to kill my connections with opnsense: /usr/local/etc/rc.newwanip running. The WAN2 and WWAN DHCP address remains the same (private one-behind NAT), why does "opnsense: /usr/local/etc/rc.newwanip" runs so often and resets all my states?

*UPDATE*

I can't understand at what is related this problem...

When it occurs i see that the ntpd service stops and starts  and then dns also stops working.
Logging also working bad, in many log places all is see is "Loading..."
