Title: System reboots when WAN goes off
Post by: Rickytr on February 19, 2020, 10:56:18 pm
I have this problem since updated to 20.1. Everytime I restart the provider’s router or disconnect the ethernet cable from the wan port of the opnsense box the system crashes and reboots. I tried to set ‘prevent interface removal’ without any success. Any suggestion?

Do a search for *.core and see if there are any core dumps, might tell you what's barfing and causing the crash.

core files are for programs crashing and this rather sounds like kernel crashing...

Do you have a small image without swap space? in this case you don't get crash reports in the GUI.

I have a complete image with swap space. From what I can see from console before the reboot I can say it’s a kernel error.
