Title: [SOLVED] Auto-Updating Alias Lists from URL?
Post by: smajor on October 26, 2015, 02:14:19 pm
My apologies if this has already been asked.  I'd like to make use of some black lists provided via URL in cidr format.  I use a couple now by manually copy/pasting via bulk import into OPNsense alias lists.

1) is there a way to do this currently outside the GUI along with periodically updating the list?

2) is this a feature that will make it into OPNsense? It seems aliases could be more valuable if some automation was added to them.

Thank you.

Hi there,

A cron entry to update all alias URLs is in place for daily execution at 12:30. It should update your aliases and reload the rules / refill the tables so the latest policies are in place.

Do you have evidence of it not working as expected?

We do have a cron GUI, but haven't made it directly accessible because we would not want to tie it to old components (used for IDS and proxy server) just yet. Should the need arise, we can definitely reassess.

Cheers,
Franco
