Title: Is Squid Proxy able to cache HTTPS content as well without any special configs?
Post by: Owasisjim on November 08, 2019, 12:44:52 am
Hey everyone,
So most content are now sent over HTTPS including Youtube videos and even patch downloads. So i'm starting to feel that Squid is becoming more useless as the majority of the web goes HTTPS = unless it can cache HTTPS as well.

So, yeh does Squid Proxy cache HTTPS content? or do we need SSL bumping and other funky stuffs to do so?
Any suggestion?

Yes, you need to open the TLS connection if you want to cache the HTTPS content.
