Title: [SOLVED] problems with NIC
Post by: gungner on September 01, 2015, 07:40:03 pm
I just tried to install 15.7.11_nano in a dual NIC MITAC. It all seems to work OK although boot takes a very long time (it just shows an underscore and waits or 3-4 minutes). I connect a LAN cable to re1 and I've assigned re1 to 192.168.1.2 (WAN is DHCP). If I go shell I can ping my own address but not any other computer on the domain :( I can see with ifconfig that re1 got the correct address and that it got status:active (which also the LEDs shows). No other computer on the domain can ping 192.168.1.2. Nor can I get contact with http(s)://192.168.1.2

I can't see any errors during boot. The NIC's are reattach :(

What's the issues here? ifconfig finds the NICs but I can't use them, what have I done wrong?

Update: Well it must be the HW that's not compatible with BSD :( It works great with smoothwall and clearos. So, I really wanted opnsense but my HW force me to use clearos.

bye bye

cheers

I'm a happy lad again, I've just tried 16.1 and it works great with my embedded Realtech NIC's :) At last I can use OPNsense, great stuff :) :)

Hi gungner,

Glad to hear 16.1 solved your issue. We've switched from FreeBSD 10.1 to 10.2 so that is likely the cause. :)

Cheers,
