Post by: spetrillo on June 04, 2019, 02:59:40 am
Curious to understand if anyone is using Monit and what advantages does it give over other similar tools?

I use monit for firewall self-monitoring/-healing.
Everything else (interface statistics, uptime, disk space) is monitored by external network monitoring program

Do you use the web interface that comes with Monit or another interface?

opnsense integrates monit in core. Configuration and status is direct accessible under Services: Monit: Settings. I just use mail alerts - did not activate the monit httpd. When carp switches I need pushed info.

Do you want to write a short instruction about it? Official docs could need some examples :)
