Title: [SOLVED] Reload button for Firewall rule activation
Post by: jstrebel on August 13, 2015, 08:41:22 pm
Was there a reload (activate) button in the Firewall Rule page  in a earlier opnsense version?
In the actual version i am forced to leave the Firewall Screen and go to Filter reload, then the new rule is going to be active.

Saving any edited rule then shows an "Apply" button, don't you see that and which version of OPNsense are you on?

What happens when you edit a rule then save the edit (you don't have to actually change anything, just hit save), do you see the "Apply changes" button surrounded by a blue box? I see that button/box and I'm using the most recent version of Firefox - what brows are you using?

First I do a save.
Then I see a Text Box with a blue Background: "The Firewall rule configuration has been changed. You must apply the changes in order for them to take effect."
But there is no visible apply button. Even if I move the cursor around in the blue field. I test this with Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

OK, that's exactly where I see the button. Which browser are you using and have you tried another browser. Is it possibly you have anything in the browser that may be blocking that display? I also have the same 15.7.8 version of OPNsense installed.

Phoenix, thank you a lot for your input. As I wrote in my earlier post. I tried with Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
I do not experience with those browsers problem where they "hide" buttons. I believe they use standard settings, exept that I configured a warning for sites who use Flash. Jakob

Sorry about forgetting the browsers that you'd mentioned earlier. Unfortunately I'm not a developer and I'm pretty much out of ideas other than..... I'm assuming you're using a linux machine for accessing the OPNsense UI? Have you tried from any other operating system? Have you also tried starting firefox with all it's add-ons disabled?

That seems like you've covered everything. :) I'm definitely out of ideas so I'll have to leave you to wait for one of the developers, sorry I can't help any further. :(

Seems like an issue with the css/www files. Can you try to reinstall the opnsense package using:

# pkg install -f opnsense

and recheck?

Will be fixed in 15.7.9. The code tried to parse the message printed to figure out if it needed to show or hide the save button. Not very good for an international translation...
