Title: Bug of Firewall on Multi Wan
Post by: jimmy shao on July 23, 2015, 07:45:19 am
I get dual wan connect with my ISP, both are PPPOE connections.

The dual wan doing well even there are having same gateway. (which will not work on PFsense, Great JOB of OPNsense!)

Whoever, after the OPNsense reboot, the traffic only go though the first WAN even dual WAN was successful connected.

I found the way to reactive the dual wan is simply make any change in the Firewall/Rules, and Apply changes, then the traffic will go though the dual wan as the expectations.

Is this a bug?

Thank you. :)

Yes, sounds like something doesn't trigger on boot up when it should. I have added a bug report here:

BTW:
Seems the traffic of squid will not pass though the dual WAN?
Traffic from Lan user without Squid go though dual WAN, but traffic from Squid only go though the first WAN.

The rules in firewall of dual WAN will not effect the traffic of squid?

Squid not being load-balanced as a local service is a known issue, maybe even original author's intended behaviour. See the other thread for details and how others have dealt with the issue.

Thanks for the reply.

Seems it's better to get another server as child of OPNsense and dedicate for some APP like squid etc..
