Title: Unable to start Flowd_aggregate service
Post by: lukus22 on October 15, 2018, 02:02:24 PM
Hi all,

Some time ago I performed an update and ever since I have not been able to start the flowd_aggregate service.
It's not a huge deal but it would be nice to fix.
I have tried resetting everything in the reporting gui menu, but unfortunately didn't help.
I also tried removing the flowd package and re-installing... which also didn't help.
I then tried to start the service using the cli, and it returns this:

root@burrow-sense01:~ # sudo service flowd_aggregate start
Starting flowd_aggregate.
Unable to lock on the pidfile.
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/flowd_aggregate: WARNING: failed to start flowd_aggregate

I'm really not sure what it means by "unable to lock on the pidfile".
I know where the pid files exist... I'm tempted to delete them and reinstall the package to see if that helps but not sure.

Someone that is a pf/opnsense/linux wizard pls help! :)

This worked for me as well.
Netflow was borked after it managed to go from normal to full disk in a day and I had to manually delete the log data to avoid a worse crash

flowd_aggregate.pid resides in /var/run
