do we have an expected date?
It's out now: https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=9126.0

Hi Fracno,
it does shows up now but i cannot seem to install it.
is this going to be possible later on ?
PS : i just changed from Dev to production
edit :
using the ssh
# opnsense-update -t opnsense-devel
updated the opnsense
OPNsense 18.7.r_10-amd64
FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE-p11
OpenSSL 1.0.2o 27 Mar 2018
thank you
Production only updates to production, 18.7-RC1 is not yet production technically until it is named 18.7. :)
Cheers,
Franco
How do we update the dev version to the rc1? The normal opnsense command or is there a special command that we have to run?
On dev, reload system: firmware: updates, check for updates... there's a new "unlock upgrade" "upgrade now" combo. Or from the console menu option 12, type "18.7.r1" and hit enter.
Cheers,
Franco
When I hit check for Updates I get the following...
An API exception occured
Error at /usr/local/opnsense/mvc/app/controllers/OPNsense/Core/Api/FirmwareController.php:92 - A non-numeric value encountered (errno=2)
if I try to upgrade from Console I get an error..
missing origin.conf
A firmware upate is currently in progress.
You seem to be between versions for some reason.
# opnsense-revert opnsense-devel opnsense-update
# pkg query %n-%v opnsense-devel opnsense-update
origin.conf was replaced by OPNsense.conf, but opnsense-update was adapted for this reason....
Cheers,
Franco
this is what I get with those commands.
root@DIGIsense:/home/itcguilf # opnsense-revert opnsense-devel opnsense-update
root@DIGIsense:/home/itcguilf # pkg query %n-%v opnsense-devel opnsense-update
opnsense-devel-18.7.r_60
opnsense-update-18.1.8
Do I need to reboot after these commands, I'm still running into the same issue?
opnsense-devel is ok, opnsense-update is very bad... you would be supposed to be on 18.1.11... it doesn't revert to the correct one? Did you lock it maybe?
# pkg update -f && pkg rquery %v opnsense-update
# pkg upgrade opnsense-update
That's better I now have
root@DIGIsense:~ # pkg query %n-%v opnsense-devel opnsense-update
opnsense-devel-18.7.r_60
opnsense-update-18.1.11
Splendid, upgrade should work now 8)
And now I'm able to upgrade! Woohoo thanks franco that seems to have fixed it, not sure what happened?
Hmmm, taking a wild guess: you were not on 18.1.11, but rather 18.1.8 - 18.1.10, switched to dev directly, got the new dev package but never got the new updater code because of this. In that case a simple check and update before or after switching to dev would have fixed it.
Cheers,
Franco
Hi Fracno is this update works only when you are in Developement mode ?
its seems my hardware keep asking over and over for the same update.
Dev version will keep advertising major upgrades because we use it to stage tests continuously. :)
Switch back from dev to production after you're on 18.7.r1 and it's gone.
Cheers,
Franco
Hi Franco,
i've switched back from Dev to Pro and installed the 18.7.R1 the system has been rebooted but it still asking me to install the software again ( see screenshot )
i am on hardware A10
OPNsense 18.7.r_10-amd64
FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE-p11

Hi Julien,
Click "update now" (not "upgrade now") and it will fix itself as intended.
Cheers,
Franco

Franco thank you for turning the light on. i was looking on the dark :)
it fine now.
it shows 18.1.12 it on it way :)
It won't be so complicated once the real update to 18.7 is there. :)
