Title: IPS performance - loader.conf.local still necessary ?
Post by: opnsense_user12123 on February 14, 2018, 07:47:32 AM

Is it still necessary to add the loader.conf.local to the boot directory with all the settings?
I only added the stuff to the tuneables. Is that enough? Even after reboot ?

Thx for the great documentation

Tunables are not loader.conf values, not yet anyway.

https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues/2083

So for now you need to keep your loader.conf.local modifications.

Cheers,
Franco

Just be aware that some settings that work in tunables don't work in loader.local.conf and vise-versa. Follow the sticky in this thread for some examples. I had to do a lot of trial and error to figure some of it out. Not a lot of documentation out there about tunables and some of it is misleading.

Franco, glad to see that is in the works.
