Hello OPNSense Community!
Last night I attempted to install OPNSense on an operational firewall PC currently running IPFire. I'm glad I created an Acronis backup image first. The USB installation concluded normally, but on first boot post install, and every boot-up attempt there after, the program never successfully completes the boot process. It just repeats over and over that that it has problems mounting the file system (Please see attached image). Computer description:
Processor AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 550 Processor x2
Supported features: 64 bit AES-NI NX PAE RDRAND VT-x/AMD-V
Vendor Shuttle Inc.
Model SA76
Memory 2G
System Storage 233G SSD
Kernel 3.14.79-ipfire-pae
I re-installed several times with the exact same result. I don't believe its a problem with the software installation, but appears to be a hardware compatibility problem.
Please advise.
oops, wrong image attached. Correcting.
OK correct image now attached!
Tried it on a newer computer and it worked. Now just trying to configure!
Hi there,
Glad this worked the second time. First time may be fixed by installing the "os-boot-delay" plugin before going into the first reboot (that's how the install media is able to boot).
Cheers,
Franco
Is there a way to install the "os-boot-delay" plugin mentioned previously from the command line rather than the web interface? I'm testing that same computer again for another possible OPNSense deployment and I remembered your original reply. I know the reply is old, but it just came up again. Thanks!
