For some reason I cant get my forwarding rules correct for torrenting. I'm a new user to OPNSense but I've used pfSense in the past (had to stop because realtek nics) and Sophos for a year or so. I'm also familar with Palo Alto firewalls, so I don't know why it isnt working for me.
Interface: WAN
TCP/IP: IPv4
Protocol: TCP/UDP
Destination: WAN
Destination Port Range: BitTorrent (Alias)
Redirect Target IP: OpenMediaVault (Alias)
Redirect Target Port: BitTorrent (Alias)
My downloads never start.
In transmission, under tools, network (WAN), what is the result of the port test?
Is the port allowed in the firewall settings of the NAS?
Bart...
Turned out to be a dns issue on the server transmission runs on, which is weird because it was working fine before I moved. I'll read up more on OPNSense or atleast the terminology used, because I have to set up a couple Full NATs for 2 DDNS.
I really want to get away for Sophos, because its so restrictive by default. Even with everything like filtering, firewall, intrusion prevention, etc off I have to add media players to transparent mode skip lists for Netflix and other streaming services to work.
I'll be back to play with OPNSense in the coming weeks.
