First of all, my deepest respect to everyone fighting the current wave of security issues. And I mean it.
Updating my test system, I've found that the "Click to view pending updates." message remains even after the update has been applied. Clicking on the message again shows no further updates. Health checks indicate no problems, except the update check:

This is from the major upgrade 25.10 -> 26.4 and it finished correctly eventually:

You can dismiss this upgrade log so it no longer shows in the audit selection, but keep in mind each major upgrade will generate a new log and present it.

Ok, I didn't realise that. But what about the UI being stuck in ,,Click to view pending updates."? I double checked from another computer.
Could be:
# opnsense-patch https://github.com/opnsense/core/commit/2db243f2ecf2
The patch versioning is new and perhaps has a rough edge left in the code.
