Title: Options in KEA DHCP
Post by: aperezva on March 18, 2026, 11:05:01 AM
Hi,

I know this is noit the firstm time we comment this point, But I would like to know if do yoy have in the roadmap implement OPtions in KEA DHCP. I migrated my installation from ISC to KEA, and i don´t wanty to migrate again.

In this case I need to incorporatio a 243 option in my IPTV server, and now it´s impossible,

I know taht DSNMASQ has this feature, but I want avoid another mgration when KEA is working fine in the other features taht have.

I don´t know if would be possible use KEA fro my VLAN´s OIR ,and LAN, and dnsmasq only for a IPTV, maybe it woulkd be a working arraund.

Thanks

Ongoing work, definitely in 26.7.

https://github.com/opnsense/core/pull/9988

If it will land earlier, e.g. in a 26.1 point release, I don't know.

The hex only implementation will most likely make it into a . release soonish.

The plan is also to add more encoding types for usual options, that will most likely come a bit later.

Though with hex you can configure anything already, you just have to be a bit more "power user" than usual until the helpers land.
