Title: Destination NAT port range?
Post by: shagnome on March 02, 2026, 09:07:46 AM
Hi All,

I'm using OPNsense 26.1.2_5 and trying to forward a range of UDP ports from my WAN address onto a host on my LAN.
I have entered the details in the attached image, but am receiving an error "Please specify a valid port number, well-known name, alias or range".
I have entered a port range "45000:65535".
I make the assumption I am doing something wrong. Can someone let me know what it is?

It seems inconsistent IMO but in firewall rules, an explicit port range is entered with a dash rather than a colon (in port aliases). The help states "Destination port number or well known name (imap, imaps, http, https, ...), for ranges use a dash".
