Title: Firewall rules migrated and worked. Setup a new vlan - rules reverted to legacy?
Post by: Timotei79 on February 20, 2026, 12:06:28 AM
Hi,
as subject line, running on 26.1.1. Had migrated firewall rules succesfully. Upon creating a new vlan and device, the rules have reverted to only showing in the legacy firewall rules pane.

Has anyone else had similar?

I tried to reproduce it on 26.1.2_5 by creating a VLAN and enabling and assigning an IP to the interface.  The rules remained in the new rules UI.

Are you maybe referring to the Floating/Group/Automation rules drop-downs?  Those still show in the legacy rules UI even after migration, but those rules actually live in Firewall->Rules [new].  The legacy UI should not display any interface level rules.

It's a little confusing right now until we can disable the legacy UI.

You can audit all configuration changes under System: Configuration: History. It beats speculating over what could have happened.
