Title: Problem accessing equipment on the WAN with WireGuard
Post by: jean-luc.rete on February 07, 2026, 05:26:34 PM
Hello,

I've been using OPNsense behind my internet router for a few months now, with versions 25.x, to separate IoT devices, Home Assistant, Wi-Fi, etc., from my main network.

I set up WireGuard instances to remotely access networks on the OPNsense interfaces, as well as devices located on my router's network, which is the OPNsense WAN.

It worked perfectly for accessing my NAS and PC via RDP.

Since the latest version, 26.1.1, I no longer have access to my devices on my router's network when connecting via WireGuard.

After some trial and error, I found that by clicking "Apply" in the firewall under "Rules (new)" (I had migrated my rules), then connecting and disconnecting with WireGuard, access to my devices on my router's network (behind the OPNsense WAN)

starts working again!

I have to do this every time I restart!

FYI, hoping for a fix in a future update.

i'm sorry for the translate

Regards,

Jean-Luc
