Title: Noob Questions
Post by: KOM on February 05, 2026, 05:36:28 PM
New user who has gotten sick & tired of the other thing.

1.  Does this forum have a dark mode?

2.  Is there a way to change your forum avatar?

3.  Fresh install of OPS has unbound running in forwarding mode.  I don't see a simple toggle between forwarding and resolving.  How do I configure unbound to resolve instead of forward?

4.  Any major gotchas when trying to convert from thing to OPS?

Forwarding is not a mode that you can enable.  Unbound is always a recursive resolver unless there are entries in "Unbound->Query Forwarding" or "Unbound->DNS over TLS," or if the "Use System Nameservers" option is checked on either of those tabs.

I don't think so ?!

Quote2.  Is there a way to change your forum avatar?
Click/Hover on your username on top of the forum and you will eventually find this :
https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?action=profile;area=forumprofile;u=46370

There you can find some Avatar and Signature related settings amongst others :)

Unbound and DNSmasqd in OPNsense can work together in various ways so that's something to read about in the documentation ;)
