Title: The pledge of the Network Admin
Post by: Patrick M. Hausen on February 03, 2026, 05:09:35 PM
QuoteThe Pledge of the Network Admin

This is my network.
It is mine,
or technically, my employer′s.
It is my responsibility,
and I care for it with all my heart.
There are many other networks a lot like mine,
but none are just like it.
I solemnly swear
that I will not mindlessly paste from HOWTOs.

The Rifleman's Creed adapted to networking wasn't on my bingo card for today :)

Looks like a good resource.  Thanks for the reference.

It's the first edition actually applicable to OPNsense (or pfSense), because the previous ones only covered OpenBSD and the features and syntax had diverged quite a bit since FreeBSD had adopted PF.

In BSD circles it is sometimes referred to as the "be nice to FreeBSD" edition.

So if you have the budget, go get a copy.
