Title: 26.1 Release Question
Post by: spetrillo on December 17, 2025, 04:13:34 PM
How that we are closer to January of 2026 I was wondering if the OPNsense team knows what version of FreeBSD will be included in the package. I am trying to determine if support for the Intel E610 will be part of this.

Thanks,
Steve

As I understood, OPNsense doesn't use X.0 releases. FreeBSD 15.1-RELEASE is scheduled for June 2026 (https://www.freebsd.org/releng/, Upcoming Release Schedule).

14.3 will remains the current version by the time 26.1 comes out. For 26.7 we're going to target 15.1 indeed.

Cheers,
Franco

Thanks all...I just wanted to understand when the E610 will become useable in FreeBSD, without the need to compile. Not going down that road! If I had one wish it would be if support for the E610 could be added into 14.3 but that is not really your call.
