Hi all (first post!)
I am currently utilizing two Synology RT2600ac routers (primary + wireless repeater) fully set up with VLANs, reserved DHCP addressing and many configured clients.
In case one has trust issues when it comes to privacy and security of Synology products (but shies away from re-doing the complete setup on different hardware), would it be feasible to use a spare Zimaboard 832 with dual NICs as a 'pre-router' running OPNsense, positioned on the WAN side with the Synology setup connected to it?
If so, what would be the best way to configure the OPNsense unit?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Side note: My networking skill level is between novice and intermedite, depending on the subject.
