Post by: aDik on November 14, 2025, 05:21:03 PM
hi all,

i'm very new to linux and opnsense. i'm trying to follow youtube video from home network guy to configure my firewall on proxmox. at the moment its connected to my exsisting lan using lan port and wan is still not connected. for some reason i cannot see my lan interface under isc dhcpv4 even though i'm using it to connect to firewall from my pc. i dont understand why is it missing form there... i can see my new vlans but not lan interface.

btw.
i'm not sure how good this tutorial is but if you have any other you can recommend, please let me to know

thanks guys

The default has been changed to DNSmasq as the standard DHCP server for OPNsense.

Refer to the OPNsense documentation (https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/dnsmasq.html) instead of outdated Youtube videos.

For OpnSense and Proxmox, see this (https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=44159.0).
