Title: NAT rule works after disable & enable (post restoration)
Post by: fluidpacket on September 19, 2025, 03:14:14 PM
I happened to reinstall opnsense into a uefi vm (previously bios), and imported the config file. After that, everything except the WAN port forward rule didn't work until it was disabled and enabled. Any idea why this would happen? I could perhaps recreate this issue because there is a vm snapshot handy.

Did you reboot after config restore?

Yes rebooted a few times or more, because the NAT rule was not working 😅
Previously, I had searched the firewall log 'label' for the nat rule name. But now I have learnt that it's called 'rdr rule' in the logs.

A reboot once after config restore is expected and recommended. That's why I asked. But one reboot should be enough.
