Title: Intel NUC (2012) uninstall
Post by: aba on August 14, 2025, 09:40:33 AM
Hi there

I installed OPNSense on an old Intel NUC from 2012 to try it out. Meanwhile I purchased a Sophos Hardware Firewall and installed OPNSense there since my 4 port USB NIC on the NUC was not reliably working.

So I have this NUC and wanted now to install another system. However, I'm unable to enter the old/orogin BIOS and I have a vague memory that this one had been replaced by OPNSense?

Is there a way to reinstall the original BIOS or how do I enter there? The F2 key does not work in my case.

Kind regards
Aurel

The Operating System, like OPNSense as an example, only get loaded after the BIOS or uEFI firmware has completed its routines. Therefore the question does not relate to OPN. Perhaps better to ask in the manufacturer's customer support area.
