Title: Whats in your /root Dir?
Post by: BrandyWine on July 27, 2025, 06:03:03 AM
Using the latest install of OPNsense, what's in your /root dir?
I asking because I was rushing through some open ssh windows doing some testing and accidentally did rm * while in /root
I still have all the dot files, but not sure what might have been deleted, if anything. System still runs fine though even after reboot.
So, I was just wondering what's there before I do a test install on another device, etc.

Shouldn't be an issue. All important stuff was always stored as hidden files starting with ".".

Cheers,
Franco

Yes, I mention it, the dots survived, I just wasn't sure what else was in there from the image install, etc. Thanks.

Just checked my /root dir, and, apart from the dot files, everything there is stuff I've created.
That's why I use it, because the system doesn't.
