Hi guys, after upgrading to 25.7 I switched to Dnsmasq as DHSP server for IPv4 and 6.
I am using Adguard Home, Unbound and Dnsmasq based on the Configuration Example (https://wiki.opnsense.org/manual/dnsmasq.html#configuration-examples).
But unfortunately no hostnames are shown for IPv6 addresses in Adguard or in Traffic/Reporting/Top Talkers.
Do you have an idea what could be wrong? I have attached screenshots of my current configuration.

I have the same effect since update to 25.7. Using dnsmasq for DHCP and unbound DNS for DNS on port accessable for AdGuardHome. Since update to 25.7 only hostnames for fixed adresses are visible in AdGuardHome. All others are IP-Adresses only.

But only for IPv6 addresses right? Hostnames for IPv4 addresses are shown for me.
My statement apply solely to IPv4 addressing. IPv6 support is currently disabled in my environment.

Then please do not "hijack" a thread that specifically discusses IPv6 only.
Hello, you have configured Opnsense with the internal domain and the LAN network in lan.internal and it is the same DHCP range. In my opinion, you should leave the domain configuration in DNSMASQ blank for IPv4 and configure the domain in IPv6 in internal.

Where do I have to change this?
dnsmasq DHCP Ranges
Leave the DHCP IPv4 range blank in the domain. In IPv6, add the domain to the internal domain.
IPv6 Advanced Mode, Domain Type: Interface
So "lan.internal" should be removed from Domain field of top entry of my screenshot and be added to the field below?
Yes, if it is blank the domain will be Internal, which you have configured by default.
Ok, this is how it looks like now. I will see if hostnames are now shown in Adguard, etc.
and change it here also to Internal
I still see lan.internal
I still see lan.internal
Ok, this is how it looks like now. I will give it a try.

Changed this one to "internal" instead.
If it doesn't work for you, use this for the IPv6 PTR

To get the IPv6 PTR I have to use the IPv6 address of my LAN interface in the converter right?
I have it with CIDR /32
it's complicated
It's not working for you yet?
There are still some ipv6 addresses shown in Adguard Home and Traffic/Top Talkers. But I will wait a little bit to see if that will change.
I'm sorry, I've done what I could, I don't have much knowledge
