Title: [Solved] IGMP / IPTV problems after upgrading to 25.1.11
Post by: i81b4u on July 20, 2025, 12:06:07 PM
Hi all,

I upgraded to 25.1.11 about a week ago. Everything seemed to work just fine. Today I noticed that IPTV does not work as expected and I suspect IGMP, because when looking at ingoing and outgoing traffic I noticed strange behaviour like black screens on some channels and using double the expected bandwidth on the IPTV WAN port. Reverted back to 25.1.10 (opnsense-revert -r 25.1.10 opnsense) and everything works just fine again.

Have not had the time to look into the differences between the two packages yet, but I wanted to report this nevertheless.
I would like to know if there are more users experiencing the same problem. Apart from that I would really like some tips on how to diagnose things without me having to spend a lot of time. Sad to say that this is not an option right now.

Best regards.

I would guess this is yet another manifestation of the state-tracking problem also leading to this: https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=45991.0

Long story short: wait for 25.7 release which is due to be released on 2025-07-23. If the problem persists, file a bug report.

Hi meyergru,

State-tracking could indeed be the culprit, but for now that's just an assumption I made based upon what I've been able to figure out so far. I'll wait for 25.7 to arrive, but will not be able to install it until mid august.

Thanks for sharing that interesting forum post, though. Much appreciated!

Best regards.

Hi all,

Just wanted to share that after updating to 25.7, IGMP / IPTV works as a charm.

Best regards.
