Title: Issue with Unbound DNS OPNsense
Post by: evilfw01 on June 28, 2025, 12:47:04 PM
Hi Team,
I need some help.
After upgrading to latest version of OPNsense (25.1.9_2), my unbound service is the following message:

"The configuration contains manual overwrites, these may interfere with the settings configured here"
I did read through some previous post where user were talking about having some hangover package/config. But I am unable to locate any config which might be cause the issue.

I also checked out the system logs, unbound log for some clue but nothing obvious.

Can someone please help me with this?

Thank you,

Still seeing this as well. Occurred during 25_1 migration on one router.

Is it just checking for a presence of extra .conf files? If so, which ones are ok?

If there's no easy way to check for a clean config, can we just do this? :

- turn off unbound
- delete all of /var/unbound
- reinstall the package, hope for the best
- re-enable and attempt to reconfigure via gui

I don't want to create two days worth of work just to avoid a message. But if this is safe, it might be ok.

Thx
