Title: OPNSense Beginner with 4 port NIC
Post by: Ghatazhak on June 09, 2025, 04:22:58 AM
Brand new to OPNSense. I will do my best to describe the situation. I can get internet just fine on my LAN side and can log into OPNSense using a 4 port NIC I350 but i get no internet from my other 2 ports on the NIC (OPT1 and OPT2). OPT1 has a static IP of 192.168.21.1 and OPT2 192.168.22.1. DHCP is setup  for them as well.

I have setup Firewall rules on OPT1 and OPT2 and left them at the default "any" on everything. I see that my LAN has the "source" as Lan net.

Unsure what i am missing here. Internet searchers have helped me learn but i have been at this for hours and im stuck.

Does the client get an IP on OPT1 and OPT2? And can you ping e.g. 1.1.1.1 from the client? If you can ping then the issue would be with DNS.

There is a default "allow any -> any" rule just for LAN. You have to replicate it for any other (V)LAN.
