Title: OPNSense gets IPV6 but not on boot.
Post by: TeeJayD on May 11, 2025, 09:00:23 PM
Facing a very strange issue where ipv6 works but everytime opnsense starts, I need to manually go to the wan interface and just save without changing anything. Otherwise it'll just not get ipv6 on the WAN interface and consequently, on all others.

Of course, it's always PPPoE... Been working on similar cases in the past but haven't been able to find a solution that fits all. Some ISPs don't like the timing of the booting sequence, leading some ISPs to reconnect a few times with different IPv6 results (IPv6 connected yes/no/sometimes).

Cheers,

Is there a way to trigger a "save and apply" on an interface without changing anything via command line? Since that's all that i need to do get an ipv6, i believe that would be enough to mitigate.
