Title: OPNsense & audiobookshelf - port forwarding.
Post by: akiPika on February 25, 2025, 03:52:39 PM
I just installed OPNsense for the first time and can't seem to figure out how to get port forwarding to work for audiobookshelf. I got Plex working without issue, but audiobookshelf is being blocked.

Audiobookshelf works on port 13378 and when I was using my Ubiquiti USG, I simply pointed that port to the LAN IP. When I do the same in OPNsense, I cannot access audiobookshelf externally. Since Plex was working, I tried copying that rule and just changing the port/IP but that doesn't work either.

Has anyone here used audiobookshelf and got it working with OPNsense?

Did you set it up with a reverse proxy, as recommended on GitHub?

I have my audiobookshelf behind a nginx proxy, and in OPNsense I just create one NAT/Port Forward on 443 to the nginx proxy.
It worked the same way without the nginx proxy, just with it's own port number, which I had running for a few weeks like this.

Is the Nginx in the same subnet as audiobookshelf?
Is the proxy running in transparent mode?

If you access it, what exactly do you get?
Any logs on the proxy?
