Title: Can't connect to gateway
Post by: Mrfudog on February 14, 2025, 10:12:40 AM
Hi everyone

I am a first timer so please have patience.

I just setup OPNsense for the first time and am struggling.
I have it setup in a Proxmox VM (I know, will buy dedicated hardware at some point) that passes linux bridges from the NIC. Additionally I have an Aruba Instant On 1830 switch (not happy with the admin tool so will change that as well, recommendations welcome).

I have setup 7 VLANs and connected them on port 4 (no LAGG as I couldn't get it to work that way). It is connected to the switch on a trunk port, that has the VLANs assigned as tagged.

I temporarily set the firewall rules to allow all traffic.

The devices get DHCP leases and on the LAN (Port 2) I can connect to them. But as soon as I connect through an untagged port on the switch I cannot even connect to the gateway. Do you have any ideas on why this could be?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Are you familiar with configuring VLANs on this switch?

In OPNsense did you disable "hardware checksum offloading"?
