Title: Buffebloat degradation with PPoE
Post by: mag89 on January 21, 2025, 04:38:03 PM
Hi all
Recently I changed configuration on my Futro S920 (with AMD G415 SOC - https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+GX-415GA+SOC&id=2081 (https://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+GX-415GA+SOC&id=2081))

My original configuration was with a fritzbox that manage PPoE with my ISP and telephone using VOIP.

Then I moved using an external ATA to manage VOIP and I also tried to move PPoE directly from Futro S920 through Opnsense.
After my initial concern it is managing properly my 200 Mb down/50 Mb up connection.

The point is that several bufferbloat test are passed from A+ with previous configuration with fritzbox to C with PPoE managed by Opnsense.
I already applied tunables for multithreaded PPoE... is there any other software optimization I can do or it's matter to move to a more performance CPU/SOC?
