Title: 24.7 upgrade affecting VOIP applications such as WhatsApp and Google Voice
Post by: kulows on December 05, 2024, 09:15:55 AM
After I upgraded to 24.7 I noticed that calls through WhatsApp or Google Voice are randomly dropped or "choppy".  This only started since I upgraded. I am using 5GHZ WIFI 6 WPA2 and none of my wireless settings have been changed.  I also tried this on multiple telephones and my laptop, and even tried 2.4 GHZ.  Any suggestions?

No suggestion but I'm having problems with a HT801 ATA since the latest update. I can start an outgoing phonecall, it rings at the receivers end but if it gets picked up there's total silence. If people make a phone call to me it doesn't ring on my side and on the caller side there's silence as well. Within 30 seconds the called will get a couldn't make connection notice on an Android.
I just changed NAT Traversal from Auto to Keep-Alive which seems to work but not sure yet if that's temporary.
With live view I can see a TCP connection on the WAN interface to the WAN IP on port 5060 which shows Default deny / state violation rule.

::) I feel so stupid.  I found the issue.  There were two IP reservations with the same IP address.  Thank you for helping me find my mistake.
