Title: monit stopped with <118>Error opening the log file '/var/log/monit' for writing

Hello,
sorry for my poor english...

Yesterday my monit service has stopped. May be after update to OPNsense 24.7.8-amd64.
And I can't start it yet, only error messages...

I can see the following notes in logfile:
2024-11-08T16:43:07   Notice   kernel   <118>/usr/local/etc/rc.d/monit: WARNING: failed to start monit   
2024-11-08T16:43:07   Notice   kernel   <118>Error opening the log file '/var/log/monit' for writing -- Is a directory

...   
2024-11-08T16:43:05   Notice   kernel   <118>Setting up gateway monitor...done.

Searching in forum and google had no results.
Any suggestions to solve the error?

there was a directoty named "monit", but the new system expected a file with this name. After deleteing the directory and all old logfiles, the service has started properly :-)
