Title: failed to disable offloads for interface?
Post by: JohnBee on November 05, 2024, 04:01:30 AM
I just installed Opnsense on bare metal, then Zenarmor and finding an error, with packet engine stall -  failed to disable offloads for interface

That said, I have turned-off all of the offload checksums in Interface/Settings, though Zenarmor continues to fail to start based on that error - any ideas?

Did you reboot OPNsense after disabling the H/W Offloading?

Regards,
S.

You can benefit from the following article to provide control.

If after disabling the hardware offload a reboot doesn't fix it, remove the Zenarmor related packages and reboot, then reinstall Zenarmor. You might be able to just reinstall ZA, but the reboot between should make certain that things reload.

That said, I see there is a 1.18.1 version that I haven't updated to, what version is yours running?

Were you able to solve or fix the issue? I am having the same kind issue and error message.

Everytime i keep enabling the engine with deployment mode set to bridge or routing it keeps stopping and I get the same error messages. FYI i have it configured with OPNSense as transparent bridge between UDM Pro and UDM Switch. I have already tried removing the assignment and re-adding and uninstalling zenarmor and reinstalling again.  I can confirm the disable hardware offload is check marked too.

Hi,

Some Broadcom network card models face compatibility issues with netmap, which can prevent offloading settings from being applied correctly. To resolve this, I recommend switching to Intel network cards, as they tend to have best compatibility with netmap and are widely supported in such environments.
