Title: ddclient errors/missing features
Post by: bobberb on November 04, 2024, 05:17:13 PM
I currently have DNS records for my domain

@  8.8.8.8
*    8.8.8.8
I installed the ddclient plugin.
I enter "@" in the subdomain and the error is
failed to set new ip 8.8.8.8 [400 - {"status": "error", "errors": [{"location": "path", "name": "rrset_name", "description": "String does not match expected pattern; invalid record name, \"@\" can't be used inside name (param: media,@,*)"}]}]

and secondly, despite wildcard being an option in the ddclient.json (set to false) there is no exposed button to switch to wildcard mode.

How is ddclient used to set the root (@) dns zone record on opnsense and how do you access wildcard?

thank you

Seems @ wants its own entry.
