Hello Team, So I was configuring opnsense by snmp for my firewalls and Zabbix. I noticed it wasn't working so I used LINUX BY ZABBIX AGENT, but my Boss is still insisting on OPNSENSE BY SNMP. Kindly help me we out with the configuration. i followed the documentation below but still can't get it working. Thank you.

What exactly did you try - all the details, all configuration of all components please? Otherwise it is impossible to help you.
First thing, I hope you installed the Zabbix agent plugin, because this is BSD, not Linux, assume this is a typo.
I think it was Patrick that explained to me about the differences between the plugin and SNMP (or other scripting). With the bare plugin (and BSD template), you are going to get things like hardware stats and maybe OS updates and reboots. Typically we are looking for more details like interface throughput, IPS blocking, etc. And I think that's why most people use the SNMP templates that are floating around the internet. He mentioned that you need to tell the server which items you want to look at by giving it the commands to get the info. so that it can be displayed. That's enough of a lightbulb to get me going.
After saying this, I have not had the time to sit and teach myself what I need to do to monitor my firewall, haven't even had time to roll out the agent on the rest of my Windows servers. And figuring out the SNMP options are something I want to do to monitor my network switches, especially the ones I have in other buildings that are "less" secure. Yes, there are always more projects "on the bench" than time, you shave off the ones that are most important at the time they get done and the rest wait. Right now setting up a VMware lab is high on my list.
